I am interested in the effects of ideology, partisanship and politically-motivated reasoning on science-based issues. I also have an interest in understanding how system threat perception affects people’s willingness to engage in and support system change, specifically as it pertains to climate change mitigation.
As a member of the Misinformation Lab I am currently conducting a number of projects related to politically-motivated reasoning in the domains of climate change and sexual misconduct allegations against politicians
Current projects include:
Responses to persuasive messages about climate change: The effect of message framing.
The effect of political humour on support for climate change mitigation
Political partisanship in responses to sexual misconduct allegations against politicians
The underlying belief structure of the liberal-conservative political orientation spectrum
